The Japanese TCG Landscape Right Now
Fall 2026 is one of the most exciting seasons in the history of Japanese trading card games. The Pokémon Card Game is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a landmark expansion — 30th Celebration (30周年セレブレーション), code M6a — alongside a wave of standout commemorative products. Meanwhile, the One Piece Card Game continues its rapid rise with new sets every quarter and a growing international collector base. Whether you are a player, a collector or a reseller — Japanese original editions deliver the best pull rates, the most beautiful artwork and the earliest access to every new release.
Here is our curated guide to the products worth your attention this season — everything in stock and shipped sealed from Japan.
Top Pokémon Picks
1. 30th Celebration Booster Box (M6a / 30周年セレブレーション)
The headline release of 2026. M6a celebrates thirty years of the Pokémon Card Game with a celebration set that brings together beloved characters from every generation — Pikachu (ピカチュウ), Charizard (リザードン), Mew (ミュウ), Mewtwo (ミュウツー), Gengar (ゲンガー), Rayquaza (レックウザ), Sylveon (ニンフィア), Zekrom (ゼクロム) and Salamence (ボーマンダ). Twenty packs of six cards per box, with exclusive anniversary artwork that will not appear in the English version.
Why buy: A once-per-generation celebration set. High chase-card appeal, strong long-term collector value and an era-defining product.

2. 30th Celebration Card Set — All 9 Types Complete Bundle (30周年記念カードセット)
Nine card sets released on October 16, 2026, each built around a starter Pokémon from a different generation — from Bulbasaur (フシギダネ) and Charmander (ヒトカゲ) through to Sprigatito (ニャオハ) and Fuecoco (ホゲータ). The bundle ships all nine sets together.
Why buy: A nostalgia-driven collector piece spanning the full starter Pokémon history. Ideal as a gift or as a display collection.

3. Storm Emeralda Booster Box (M6 / 嵐のエメラルダ)
Released July 31, 2026, Storm Emeralda is the latest main-series expansion before the anniversary set. It features Rayquaza (レックウザ), Raikou (ライコウ) and Golisopod (グソクムシャ) as headliner cards. Thirty packs of five cards per box.
Why buy: A competitively strong set with beautiful artwork. Still new on the market and well stocked — an excellent complement to the anniversary products.

4. 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set — Espeon & Umbreon (MF)

Why buy: The Eeveelution duo is among the most beloved in the franchise. A premium set with display-worthy packaging and strong playability.

5. 30th Celebration FUTURISTIC BOX
A special-edition anniversary box centred on Pikachu (ピカチュウ), designed by artist YOSHIROTTEN. A collector-focused product with a striking visual identity — unlike anything else in the Pokémon Card Game line.
Why buy: Limited-run packaging with an artist collaboration. A standout piece for display collectors and Pikachu fans.
Top One Piece Picks
1. OP-17 The World’s Strongest Warriors Booster Box (世界最強の戦士)
Released August 22, 2026, OP-17 assembles the most powerful characters in the One Piece universe: Monkey D. Luffy (モンキー・Ｄ・ルフィ), Shanks (シャンクス), Gol D. Roger (ゴール・Ｄ・ロジャー), Edward Newgate / Whitebeard (エドワード・ニューゲート), Kaido (カイドウ), Charlotte Linlin / Big Mom (シャーロット・リンリン) and Rocks D. Xebec (ロックス・Ｄ・ジーベック). Twenty-four packs of six cards per box.
Why buy: The strongest character lineup in any One Piece set to date. High collector demand for Shanks and Roger chase cards.
2. EB-03 Heroines Edition Booster Box
An extra booster focused on the women of One Piece — Nami, Nico Robin, Boa Hancock, Uta, Perona and Vivi. A theme-driven set with strong appeal among character collectors.
Why buy: Extra boosters naturally carry smaller print runs than main sets, and the character focus gives it a dedicated collector base.
3. OP-13 Carrying on His Will Booster Box (受け継がれる意志)
Features Luffy (モンキー・Ｄ・ルフィ), Ace, Sabo, Gol D. Roger and Imu. A narrative-driven set that resonates deeply with fans of the series’ overarching story.
Why buy: Strong thematic identity, and older sets in the OP line are becoming harder to find. A solid addition to any One Piece TCG collection.
For New Collectors
If you are just getting started with Japanese trading card games, these are our recommended entry points:
- Starter Set ex Eevee ex (MEE) — A ready-to-play set featuring one of the most popular Pokémon. Everything you need to start playing immediately.
- Starter Set ex Zorua & Zoroark ex (MEZ) — A Darkness-type set with strong play mechanics and popular characters.
- Starter Set ex Sprigatito & Meowscarada ex (MEM) — Latest generation, built around the Grass-type starter from the Scarlet & Violet era.
- Single packs — Try a Storm Emeralda booster pack or a One Piece OP-17 booster pack to sample a set before committing to a full box.
Starter sets are ideal for new players — they come with a rule sheet and a full 60-card deck. Single packs let you experience the thrill of opening Japanese cards at low commitment.
For Investors and Resellers
Looking for the products most likely to hold or grow in value? Here is what we are watching:
- 30th Celebration (M6a) — Anniversary sets have historically been among the strongest performers on the Pokémon TCG secondary market. 25th Anniversary Collection is a clear precedent.
- 30th Celebration Card Set Bundle — Commemorative products with a starter theme and wide nostalgic appeal. Sealed bundles are becoming scarcer.
- 30th Celebration FUTURISTIC BOX — Limited-run products with artist collaborations tend to climb once initial supply is exhausted.
- Early One Piece boxes (OP-01 through OP-09) — The One Piece Card Game is still relatively young. OP-01 Romance Dawn and OP-05 Awakening of the New Era stand out.
- EB-03 Heroines Edition — Extra boosters carry smaller print runs by nature.
