Thirty packs, five cards, four partners

Battle Partners (バトルパートナーズ, SV9) is a Japanese expansion pack released on 24 January 2025. Each pack holds 5 cards and a box holds 30 packs. Of the set's 132 cards, 100 are numbered and 32 sit beyond the list as secret rares: 12 AR, 11 SR, 6 SAR and 3 UR.

The set is built on Trainer's Pokémon — cards that carry a trainer's name and their Pokémon together: N's Zoroark ex, Lillie's Clefairy ex, Hop's Zacian ex and Iono's Bellibolt ex are the four on the box. What you buy here is the Japanese print, on Japanese card stock, in the 30-pack box shown above.

02 · The story

The bond changes the battle

The official line for the set is one sentence: the bond between trainer and Pokémon changes the battle. Battle Partners brings back the old idea of a trainer's own Pokémon — N of Unova with Zoroark and Reshiram, Lillie of Alola with Clefairy and Ribombee, Hop of Galar with Zacian and Wooloo, Iono of Paldea with Bellibolt and Kilowattrel — each printed as that trainer's card.

Beyond the numbered list the set gives its ex Pokémon a Super Rare, six cards a Special Art Rare — Volcanion, Iono's Bellibolt, Lillie's Clefairy, N's Zoroark, Hop's Zacian and Salamence — and closes with three gold Ultra Rares: Iono's Bellibolt ex, N's Zoroark ex and Spiky Energy.

Is this the Japanese or the English set?

Japanese. Battle Partners (SV9) is the Japanese set released on 24 January 2025. The English game printed most of these cards later inside the set Journey Together, with its own numbering.

What is a Trainer's Pokémon?

A Pokémon card that carries a trainer's name — N's Zoroark ex, Lillie's Clefairy ex, Hop's Zacian ex, Iono's Bellibolt ex — and works together with that trainer's other cards. It is the theme of this set.

How many UR cards are there?

Three: Iono's Bellibolt ex (№ 130), N's Zoroark ex (№ 131) and Spiky Energy (№ 132), the gold cards that close the set.

How many cards are in a box?

30 packs × 5 cards = 150 cards. The set list itself has 132 cards (100 numbered + 32 secret rares); a box does not contain the full set.

What does “sealed, never resealed” mean?

The box arrives in the original Japanese factory shrink film, as it left the manufacturer. We do not open or re-wrap boxes.

Is there a version without shrink film?

Not for this set at the moment. When a no-shrink option exists, it appears as a separate choice on the product page, photographed as it ships.

Do you ship to Germany and France?
