The second-anniversary set

Emperors in the New World (新たなる皇帝, OP-09) is the Japanese One Piece Card Game booster pack released on 31 August 2024, the set that marks the game’s second anniversary. A pack holds 6 cards. The official list counts 129 types plus one DON!! card.

The 119 numbered cards break down into 6 Leaders, 45 Commons, 30 Uncommons, 26 Rares, 10 Super Rares and 2 Secret Rares — Gol.D.Roger and Monkey.D.Luffy. On top of those sit 10 special cards, the most of any set in this batch. What you buy here is the Japanese print, in the Japanese box.

02 · The story

“The new Four Emperors, assembled”

The official copy is short and states the occasion: the new Four Emperors assembled, celebrating the second anniversary of the One Piece Card Game. Two characters reach Leader status for the first time here, Lim and Nico Robin, and both are also printed as manga-art Leader parallels. The page makes a point of that return — the full-force manga-art Leader parallels come back with the new Four Emperors, for the first time since the set that introduced them.

The Super Parallel treatment is the set’s other headline: four at once, the first time that had happened — Shanks (OP09-004), Buggy (OP09-051), Marshall.D.Teach (OP09-093) and Monkey.D.Luffy (OP09-119). And above them all, the Pirate King: Gol.D.Roger arrives as OP09-118, including a version that shines in gold. Six Leaders open the set — Shanks in red, Lim in green/purple, Buggy in blue, Luffy in purple/black, Nico Robin in purple/yellow and Marshall.D.Teach in black.

Is this the Japanese or the English set?

Japanese. Emperors in the New World (OP-09) is the Japanese booster pack released on 31 August 2024. The English edition followed on 13 December 2024 with the same card numbers.

Why is this set special?

It is the second-anniversary set. The official page assembles the new Four Emperors, brings back the manga-art Leader parallels, prints four Super Parallels together for the first time, and introduces Gol.D.Roger as a card.

What are the Secret Rares?

Two: Gol.D.Roger (OP09-118) and Monkey.D.Luffy (OP09-119). Both numbers also exist in two parallel versions each.
