01 · What is this set

Thirty packs, five cards, one hundred and twenty-five cards in the set

Paradigm Trigger (パラダイムトリガー, S12) is a Japanese expansion pack in the Sword & Shield series, released on 21 October 2022. Each pack holds 5 cards and a box holds 30 packs.

Of the set’s 125 cards, 98 are numbered and 27 sit beyond the main list: 16 SR, 8 HR and 3 UR. This is a Sword & Shield era set, so the rarities are the older ones — Super Rare, Hyper Rare and Ultra Rare, with no AR or SAR. What you buy here is the Japanese print, on Japanese card stock, in the 30-pack box shown above.

02 · The story

“In an unexplored land, the Legendary Pokémon have awakened”

未開の地で、伝説のポケモンたちが目覚めてしまった！ — the official page opens on a far-away island where Pokémon live quietly, and then gets straight to the card everyone came for. Lugia VSTAR (№ 080) carries the VSTAR Power Ability アッセンブルスター (Assemble Star), which puts up to 2 Colorless Pokémon from the discard pile onto the Bench — Stage 2 Pokémon included — and the attack ストームダイブ (Storm Dive), which knocks out most Pokémon V in one hit and discards the Stadium in play.

Three more VSTAR and VMAX Pokémon share the set: Unown VSTAR (№ 036), whose Star Cipher changes the Weakness of all the opponent’s Pokémon to Psychic; Regidrago VSTAR (№ 077), which copies an attack of a Dragon Pokémon in the discard pile; and Regieleki VMAX (№ 034). Two Pokémon Tools that grant a VSTAR Power debut here as well — Forest Seal Stone (№ 092) and Earthen Seal Stone (№ 091). Beyond the numbering the set runs 16 Super Rares, 8 Hyper Rares and 3 golds, closing on Lugia VSTAR at № 123.

Is this the Japanese or the English set?
Japanese. Paradigm Trigger (パラダイムトリガー, S12) is the Japanese expansion pack released on 21 October 2022. There is no English set of this name; in English these cards appeared inside Silver Tempest on 11 November 2022.
Why are the rarities different from the newer sets?
Because this is a Sword & Shield era set, from October 2022. Its cards beyond the main numbering are Super Rare, Hyper Rare and Ultra Rare. The AR and SAR rarities belong to the Scarlet & Violet era, which began in Japan in January 2023.
What does Lugia VSTAR actually do?
Its VSTAR Power Ability, Assemble Star, puts up to 2 Colorless Pokémon from your discard pile onto your Bench — Stage 2 Pokémon included. Its attack, Storm Dive, deals enough damage to knock out most Pokémon V in one hit and discards the Stadium in play.
How many cards are in a box?
30 packs × 5 cards = 150 cards. The set list itself has 125 cards (98 numbered + 27 beyond the list); a box does not contain the full set.
What does “sealed, never resealed” mean?
The box arrives in the original Japanese factory shrink film, as it left the manufacturer. We do not open or re-wrap boxes.
Is there a version without shrink film?
When a no-shrink option exists for a set, it appears as a separate choice on the product page, photographed as it ships.
Do you ship to Germany and France?
