01 · What is this set

One box, one deck — which one is the surprise

MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection (スタートデッキ100 バトルコレクション, set mark MC) was released in Japan on 19 December 2025. Pokémon made 100 different ready-to-play decks for it, and each box holds one of them at random. Every deck is a complete 60-card deck with at least two Pokémon ex, so it can be played straight out of the box.

According to Pokémon, the box holds the 60-card deck and one sheet of damage counters and markers — nothing else: no playmat and no coin. Which deck you have is only revealed once the box is open. What you buy here is the Japanese print, in the Japanese box.

02 · The story

24 special cards above the count

The cards in the collection are numbered out of 742. Above that count sit 24 special prints, numbered 743/742 to 766/742. They carry no printed rarity mark; collectors call them by their finish: 14 full-art AR prints, 4 SR, 5 SAR and one gold MUR — Mega Charizard Y ex, 766/742.

Collectors have documented which deck numbers hold them: the AR prints in decks No. 017, 019, 034, 037, 040, 041, 055, 059, 070, 074, 077, 083, 089, 093; the SR prints in decks No. 045, 064, 080 and 095; Pikachu ex SAR in No. 025; Lillie's Clefairy ex SAR in No. 032; and the three Mega starters — Mega Meganium ex, Mega Emboar ex and Mega Feraligatr ex SAR — together in No. 101, an extra deck outside the 100 Pokémon lists. The gold Mega Charizard Y ex is found in a version of deck No. 001.
