Thirty packs, five cards, ninety-two cards in the set

Raging Surf (レイジングサーフ, SV3a) is a Japanese enhanced expansion pack in the Scarlet & Violet series, released on 22 September 2023. Each pack holds 5 cards and a box holds 30 packs.

Of the set’s 92 cards, 62 are numbered and 30 sit beyond the main list: 12 AR, 10 SR, 5 SAR and 3 UR. What you buy here is the Japanese print, on Japanese card stock, in the 30-pack box shown above.

02 · The story

“A raging torrent of fighting spirit — Water Tera Garchomp joins the battle”

闘魂の激流、水テラスタルガブリアス参戦！ — the official catch copy puts one card at the front of this set, and it is a Dragon printed as a Water-type Tera Pokémon. Garchomp ex is the reason the set exists: it is printed as Super Rare, as Special Art Rare by Oswaldo KATO, and as the gold Ultra Rare that closes the numbering.

Around it the set is small and dense. Froslass ex, Tapu Koko ex, Hoopa ex, Gholdengo ex and Bombirdier ex are the other Pokémon ex; Larry, Shauntal, Rika and Parasol Lady are the Supporters, and Rika and Parasol Lady also return beyond the numbering as Special Art Rares. This is also the set that introduced the Technical Machine tools to the Japanese game — Technical Machine: Turbo Energize and Technical Machine: Blindside — Pokémon Tools that give a Pokémon an attack.

Is this the Japanese or the English set?
Japanese. Raging Surf (レイジングサーフ, SV3a) is the Japanese enhanced expansion pack released on 22 September 2023. There is no English set of this name; in English these cards appeared inside Paradox Rift on 3 November 2023.
What is new about this set?
It printed Garchomp ex as a Water-type Terastal Pokémon ex, and it introduced the Technical Machine Pokémon Tools to the Japanese game: Technical Machine: Turbo Energize and Technical Machine: Blindside, tools that give the Pokémon they are attached to an extra attack.
Are there ACE SPEC cards in this set?
No. ACE SPEC returned to the Japanese game in January 2024, with Wild Force (SV5K) and Cyber Judge (SV5M). Raging Surf, from September 2023, has none.
How many cards are in a box?
30 packs × 5 cards = 150 cards. The set list itself has 92 cards (62 numbered + 30 beyond the list); a box does not contain the full set.
What does “sealed, never resealed” mean?
The box arrives in the original Japanese factory shrink film, as it left the manufacturer. We do not open or re-wrap boxes.
Is there a version without shrink film?
When a no-shrink option exists for a set, it appears as a separate choice on the product page, photographed as it ships.
Do you ship to Germany and France?
Yes. Every parcel ships tracked with FedEx. Shipping is calculated at checkout from the destination and the weight of your cart.
