Thirty packs, five cards, one hundred and three cards in the set

Triplet Beat (トリプレットビート, SV1a) is a Japanese enhanced expansion pack in the Scarlet & Violet series, released on 10 March 2023. Each pack holds 5 cards and a box holds 30 packs.

Of the set’s 103 cards, 73 are numbered and 30 sit beyond the main list: 12 AR, 10 SR, 5 SAR and 3 UR. What you buy here is the Japanese print, on Japanese card stock, in the 30-pack box shown above.

02 · The story

“Meowscarada, Skeledirge and Quaquaval arrive as Pokémon ex”

マスカーニャ・ラウドボーン・ウェーニバル ポケモンexで登場！ — the official catch copy names all three at once, and the set is organised around them. The final forms of the three Paldea starters are printed as Pokémon ex at № 007, № 020 and № 030, and each one returns twice more: as a Super Rare, as a Special Art Rare, and as one of the three golds that close the numbering.

The official page picks out what each one does: Meowscarada ex builds damage in advance with its Bouquet Magic Ability so that Scratching Nails hits for 220; Skeledirge ex swings for up to 270 with Burning Voice on two Energy; Quaquaval ex deals 60 with Exciting Samba and forces both players to switch. Their first stages — Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly — appear at Art Rare, and Dedenne ex, Lycanroc ex and Paldean Clodsire ex fill out the Pokémon ex, with Dendra, Clavell, Falkner and Boss’s Orders on the Trainer side.

Japanese. Triplet Beat (トリプレットビート, SV1a) is the Japanese enhanced expansion pack released on 10 March 2023. There is no English set of this name; in English these cards were spread across several Scarlet & Violet–era releases, most of them inside Paldea Evolved on 9 June 2023.
What is an “enhanced expansion pack”?
It is the official Japanese product category 強化拡張パック, used for a smaller set released between the main expansions. The official product name here reads ポケモンカードゲーム スカーレット&バイオレット強化拡張パック「トリプレットビート」.
Which cards are printed three times over?
All three starter Pokémon ex. Meowscarada ex is at № 007, № 086 and № 096, plus the gold at № 101; Skeledirge ex at № 020, № 087 and № 097, plus № 102; Quaquaval ex at № 030, № 088 and № 098, plus № 103.
How many cards are in a box?
