01 · What is this set

Eleven cards a pack, and a trainer behind the Pokémon

VMAX Climax (ハイクラスパック「VMAXクライマックス」, S8b) is a Japanese High Class Pack released on 3 December 2021 at 550 yen a pack. Every pack holds 11 cards, with one holo basic Energy and one Pokémon V, VMAX, V-UNION or SR-or-higher card guaranteed. A box holds 10 packs.

Of the set's 285 cards, 184 are numbered and 101 sit beyond the list: 28 CHR (Character Rare), 42 CSR (Character Super Rare), 23 full-art supporter SR and 8 gold UR. CSR is a rarity that debuts in this set. What you buy here is the Japanese print, in the ten-pack box shown above.

02 · The story

Pokémon and trainer, in the same frame

The official tagline: the bond between Pokémon and trainer shines. In the 42 CSR, a Pokémon V, VMAX or V-UNION is painted with a person beside it — Pikachu VMAX with Red, Blaziken V with May, Zamazenta V with Hop, Blissey V with the Pokémon Center nurse.

The 28 CHR do the same for regular Pokémon: Flaaffy with Elesa at her mirror, Zekrom carrying N across the sky, Gardevoir watching the Doctor at his desk, Eevee with Bill, Octillery with a fisherman far behind it, Dusknoir with Morty, Alcremie with the café master, Ariados with Janine and Oranguru with Sina. Above them sit 23 full-art supporters and eight gold UR: both Calyrex, both Urshifu, Pikachu, Mew, Rayquaza and Duraludon VMAX.

09 · Questions

Before you open one

Is this the Japanese or the English set?
Japanese. VMAX Climax (S8b) is a Japanese set released on 3 December 2021. There is no English set of this name — “VMAX Climax” is a translation of the Japanese title.
What are CHR and CSR?
Character Rare and Character Super Rare: cards that show the Pokémon together with a trainer. In this set the 28 CHR are № 185–212 (regular Pokémon) and the 42 CSR are № 213–254 (Pokémon V, VMAX and V-UNION). CSR first appeared in this set.
What is a High Class Pack?
A Japanese product with more cards per pack than a regular expansion. VMAX Climax packs hold 11 cards, reprint a selection of strong Sword & Shield cards, and always include one Pokémon V, VMAX, V-UNION or SR-or-higher card.
How many cards are in a box?
10 packs × 11 cards = 110 cards, with one holo basic Energy in every pack. The set list has 285 cards (184 numbered + 101 beyond the list); a box does not contain the full set.
What is Morpeko V-UNION?
A Pokémon made of four cards that are played together. VMAX Climax prints it twice: as four regular cards (№ 056–059) and as four CSR (№ 226–229).
What does “sealed, never resealed” mean?
The box arrives in the original Japanese factory shrink film, as it left the manufacturer. We do not open or re-wrap boxes.
What does “no shrink” mean?
Japanese Pokémon booster boxes are shrink-wrapped at the factory. “No shrink” describes a box sold without that outer film. The VMAX Climax box in our store comes in its original Japanese factory shrink film.
Do you ship to Germany and France?
Yes. Every parcel ships tracked with FedEx. Shipping is calculated at checkout from the destination and the weight of your cart.
Who pays import duties?
The buyer. Prices do not include import duties or taxes; your carrier may bill them before or after delivery. Check your country's rules before ordering.
