Where the card game begins

Romance Dawn (OP-01) is the first Japanese One Piece Card Game booster pack, released on 22 July 2022. A pack holds 6 cards. The official list counts 121 types.

Those 121 numbered cards break down into 8 Leaders, 45 Commons, 30 Uncommons, 26 Rares, 10 Super Rares and 2 Secret Rares — Shanks and Yamato. The product page counts 27 parallel prints in the packs; the official card list holds 154 entries in total, because six box-insert parallels are listed alongside them. 02 · The story

“Multi-color Leader cards appear!”

Romance Dawn is where the whole game starts, and the official page spends its space on two ideas. The first is artwork: manga panels, anime frames and newly drawn illustrator art all sit in the same set, and the product copy describes the parallel cards — different artwork, different finish — as cards for collectors as much as for players. The second is deckbuilding: making a two-colour card your Leader lets you build a two-colour deck, and the page tells you to mix the set with the Starter Decks that had come out on 8 July, two weeks earlier.

Eight Leaders open the set: Roronoa Zoro in red, Trafalgar Law in red/green, Monkey.D.Luffy in red/green, Kouzuki Oden in green, Donquixote Doflamingo in blue, Kaido in blue/purple, Crocodile in blue/purple and King in purple. Every one has an alternate-art parallel. The two Secret Rares are Shanks (OP01-120), which carries two parallel entries, and Yamato (OP01-121), which carries one. A box also includes one parallel drawn at random from six: Cavendish, Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, Alvida, Perona and Who’s.Who.

Is this the Japanese or the English set?
Japanese. Romance Dawn (OP-01) is the first Japanese booster pack, released on 22 July 2022. The English edition followed on 2 December 2022 with the same card numbers.
Is this the first set of the game?
Yes. Romance Dawn is the first booster pack of the One Piece Card Game, released on 22 July 2022, two weeks after the first Starter Decks.
What are the Secret Rares?
Two: Shanks (OP01-120) and Yamato (OP01-121). Shanks’s number carries two parallel entries in the official card list, Yamato’s one.
What is the box bonus card?
The official page states that one parallel card is inserted at random per box, drawn from six: Cavendish (OP01-008), Inuarashi (OP01-034), Nekomamushi (OP01-048), Alvida (OP01-064), Perona (OP01-077) and Who’s.Who (OP01-109).
